Our mission continue our passion with saving all breeds and size horses and ponies from auctions and kill pens, and to provide horses as therapy for children and adults to help facilitate growth, learning and healing. Yes, we do have a couple of miniature ponies that are registered therapy ponies that love to visit hospitals, nursing homes, hospice ect…. HPR is dedicated to enhancing the physical and spiritual well-being of special needs individuals and their loved ones through involvement with horses. Our goal for the future is to continue the rescue of horses and have the largest equine therapy ranch in central Florida fully equipped with all disability equipment for all types of cases…. And a big enough 24 stall barn to rescue more horses fully equipped with everything we need for all injured horses HPR would love to put an end to these kill buyers and make it illegal in the US to torture, harm neglect these beautiful souls. All of our horses are rescued from either auctions or kill pens where we are their last chance before being sent off to slaughter. Once safely home, all horses are quarantined for a minimum of 21 days and vet checked throughout. When healthy, and cleared by our vet, all of our rescue horses are thoroughly evaluated to aid in the best possible match to there new home. Donations pay for food, medicine and veterinary services. We also use donations to buy horses at auction that would otherwise be sold to killbrokers, people who buy horses to sell them for meat to people in Mexico and Canada. About 90% of the horses that go through the slaughter lot are in perfect health. The more money we raise the more horses we can rescue. We plan to purchase additional property as our rescue expands for horses and ponies to have space to rehabilitate as they prepare for adoption.
